This Privacy Policy explains how the Google Workspace Add-ons developed by Tom Hobbs (collectively referred to as "we," "us," or "our," including Catify and Chapter Word Count) collect, use, and disclose information about you when you use our services.

1. Information We Collect

Our add-ons are designed to respect your privacy. We collect the minimum amount of data necessary to provide our services:

• User Content: We process the text or content in your active Google Docs/Sheets/Slides only for the purpose of performing the requested action (e.g., counting words, analyzing chapters, or modifying text). This processing happens "in-memory" and is not permanently stored on our servers unless explicitly stated.
• Technical Data: We may collect basic technical logs (IP address, browser type) for security and debugging purposes via our hosting provider (Google Firebase).
• Account Information: We do not store your email address or personal contact details on our own database unless you voluntarily contact us for support.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the functionality of the Add-ons.
• Respond to your comments, questions, and support requests.
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or illegal activities.

3. Data Storage and Security

We take reasonable measures to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access. Our services are hosted on Google Firebase. By using our service, you acknowledge that your data may be processed on Google's secure cloud infrastructure.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:

• With Service Providers: We use Google Firebase for hosting and backend functions.
• For Legal Reasons: If required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

5. Your Choices

You may stop using the Service at any time. You can uninstall the Add-ons from your Google Workspace account to revoke our access to your data.

6. Google API Services User Data Policy

Limited Use Disclosure

The use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs by any of our Add-ons will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We do not use Google Workspace data for:

• Developing, improving, or training generalized AI and/or ML models.
• Serving advertisements.
• Selling data to third parties.

7. Changes to this Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of the policy.
